Trivia[]
- "Barbican" is the name of fortified outposts that protect the gate of a castle or a walled city. They usually situated outside the main walls, served as an outer defense perimeter that can threaten the besieging enemy's flank, and made the city more defended.
- The concept behind the Barbican is that the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth added many barbicans to their city walls during the Polish Golden Age, and they participated in the defenses of Polish and Lithuanians cities in numerous wars afterwards.
- The in-game appearance of the Barbican is roughly based on the Kraków Barbican, a circular fortified gateway that protects the St. Florian's Gate of Kraków. The barbican defended the city of Kraków in many battles and sieges from 16th to 18th century.
- The Kraków Barbican is also depicted in the Poles culture art.
