Global Pollution popup
Pollution is a special late-game mechanic of Humankind. Beginning from the Industrial Era, certain Districts and Infrastructures will produce
Pollution on a per
turn basis. Pollution will accumulate inside Territories and gradually impact its Districts and the
Stability of the contolling City. Each Empire contributes to Global Pollution based on their
Pollution production per
turn in their Territories. Global Pollution impacts the whole map and reduces
Food production and
Stability in Cities.

Sources of Pollution[]
The only way to produce Pollution is through District construction. Each District that pollutes, contributes to the Territory's Local Pollution.
Makers Quarters and
Farmers Quarters don't produce
Pollution on their own, but certain Infrastructures may provide them with polluting properties on top of extra bonuses. Emblematic Districts with the "count as" attribute will get the
Pollution effects from Infrastructures based on their District type tag.

Pollution Level[]
Pollution will gradually accumulate every
turn.
When the Global Pollution reaches the highest level (over 100k accumulated Global Pollution), it will trigger the Rending the world unfit for human life End Condition, forcing the game to end after the next
turn (Standard Speed).

Mitigating Pollution[]
Currently the only ways of reducing Global Pollution are:
Building Nature Reserves -3 Pollution
Planting Forest which will provide a -10 Pollution effect on the current per turn Pollution value for 2
turn. After 2
turn, the per turn Pollution increase will rise back to the pre-Forest level.
It's also possible to decrease amount of Pollution produced by a city. Fusion Reactor technology provides -50%
Pollution, meaning more
Pollution must be produced by territory to reach dangerous Pollution levels. Certain Infrastructures decrease amount of
Pollution produced, summing additively to -90%
Pollution produced on
Makers Quarters.
Pollution produced on
Farmers Quarters is reduced -20% by the Sewage Treatment Plant. (Social Housing Technology)
