A spawn point is a place on the Map or the Tactical Map where Units can appear by finishing their construction in a City or deploying them as reserves during Combat.
Cities[]
When a City finishes the construction of a Unit, it will automatically spawn on the active corresponding spawn point type. For each of your Cities, you can set one as active for each kind. You can change any spawn point as active just by clicking on them. There are four types: land, naval, air, and missile. These points are only visible when you select the City.
On City creation, a land unit spawn point will appear on the city's Main Plaza tile. To add new spawn points for a City, you can expand it with new Districts. Garrisons provide land spawn points and Harbors naval ones. Aerodromes provide air spawn points and Missile Silos missile ones. But keep in mind Airports act as movement improvements, so they won't give you spawn points when built. On top of these, some Emblematic Districts can provide land or naval spawn points as well.
Conditions[]
- A City cannot start or complete a Unit creation if it does not have any available spawn point to generate the Unit.
- If a spawn point already has a friendly Army standing on it, new Units created by the City will join them until your Army size cap.
- A City cannot create or complete a Unit if a hostile Army is on top of its active spawn point. Or the new unit's class cannot be merged with the existing one on the tile.
- Cities won't change active spawn points automatically when the active one is blocked.
Combat[]
During combat, the Tactical Map can have multiple spawn points for Units to join the battle. Armies with reserve Units left to deploy can act as spawn points on the battlefield. During your round, any unoccupied spawn point is selectable in order to deploy the next reserve Unit onto the battlefield from the corresponding Army. The Units spawn with all movement and attack capabilities. These Units can exit spawn points in both the deployment and combat phases.
A Unit standing on top of a spawn point will block all incoming units making reinforcement impossible from that tile. This way, you can intercept and control the enemy's reinforcements. If a Unit stands on a spawn point on the Tactical Map, it will take damage each turn. Once all the Units have entered the battlefield from the spawn point, the reinforcement spawn point will disappear.
