Stealth

The Stealth System of Humankind is introduced to the player at the start of the Medieval Era. Its two major parts are theStealth value of Units and theDetection rating of Territories.

Army Stealth[]

Each Army has its own Stealth value, the maximum Stealth value of an Army depends on the lowest Stealth value among its Units. Most Units have a base Stealth rating of 0.

On foreign Territories Stealth will deplete slowly until the Units are revealed, rather than revealing them instantly if the Army steps on foreign land. The Stealth value decay is based on the Territory instead of the individual sight lines of Units.

How long Armies can remain hidden depends on the Detection rating of the Territory they are in. Armies, Districts, and squadrons of planes can contribute to this Detection rating, but in each category ONLY the highest value in the Territory is added to the Territory total. The Detection rating of a Territory reduces the Stealth value of every Army standing in the Territory for every turn, until they are revealed at 0Stealth value.

When an Army is in its own Territory, and staying on a Main Plaza, Garrison or Harbor is protected from Detection.

Concealed[]

An Army is considered as Concealed and invisible to other Empires as long as it retains any amount of Stealth.

Uncovered[]

An Army is considered as Uncovered and visible to foreign Empires when it's losing its Stealth completely.

Ambush[]

An Army walking into the same tile as a hidden Army will trigger an ambush battle. In this battle, the hidden Army counts as the attacker and receives a combat strength bonus (+8) on the first turn, while the defender cannot bring any reinforcements. If the battle won on the first turn the Army will keep its Stealth, but otherwise the Army will be revealed.
